San Lorenzo Bikinis 2017 Collections at SwimMiami - Front Row

Miami Swim Week 2016: Le Romantique

And just like that, Miami Swim Week 2016 is wrapped! This year we debuted our newest collection Le Romantique. Our ambition was to create a powerful experience, a fantasy of infinite travel with french infusion. Envision a girl with a free soul embarking on her travels through Europe and her craving for wanderlust is what drives her passion. Weren’t able to make it? No problem. Keep reading to feel like you were sitting front row at our show & sipping drinks from coconuts at our cocktail party.

We want you all to be able to experience the aloha we felt at this show. You can expect to feel the translated passion from the artisans that handmade each and every ‘kini in the collection. Le Romantique is an ode to the creative spirit. Needless to say, our SL babes absolutely rocked these looks on the runway.

Everything was carefully selected starting with the french infused music by DJ Godiva that the models walked the runway to. As the show continued, pictures of places from around the world from the owner, Lisseth Figueroa, covered the walls giving the audience a taste of her thirst for wanderlust. Each look was accessorized by Child of Wild jewelry along with head wraps that match our collections prints. Red roses lined the runway causing the audience fall in love with this collection.

The night started out with a magical set up of bright lights around a pool lined with a banana leaf wall. Did someone say Instagram heaven?! We were serving guests yummy drinks in coconuts given to us by COCO & Co mixed with Vita Coco to keep our VIPs hydrated. Miami decided to cool us down with  little bit of rain before our show, but that didn’t stop us.

Mommy and Me Tahitian Bliss

Sending lots of love and appreciation to Mother Nature this Mother’s Day for our deep blue waters, our tall mountains and everything in between! Constantly sending thanks for bearing and protecting our beautiful Earth.

Shop the Sport Brief

We had one of our very own mommies, Ashley L from our corporate team shared a Q&A with us following her recent Tahitian adventure with her husband and 10 month old daughter, Liv Hi’leihali’aaloha. The family explored exotic, French Polynesian waters and sandy beaches in their matching SLB during their tropical getaway.

What are you favorite San Lorenzo styles?

It is obvious that when becoming a mommy, your body completely changes. I can still wear the SL styles that I love that continues to make me feel beautiful and confident in my own skin. I’d like to say that San Lorenzo has many “mommy-friendly” kinis in their collections, my favorites including the Sport Brief and the High Neck Interlace. They make me feel cute and I’m able to run around comfortably with my little girl in and out of the water.

How did Liv enjoy the crystal waters of Tahiti?

Liv absolutely loves the water. She has been going to the beach since the womb. Sitting with her on the shore and tide pools at home has really helped her get comfortable near the water. Now, she runs in and out and on the shoreline all by herself. She really enjoyed our canoe rides in the lagoon and floating around in her floatie while we snorkeled next to her.

How did you get your daughter to hold her breath under water?

Her grandpa once told us that blowing into her face would cause her to close her eyes and mouth. Just before putting her under water, I whispered in Liv’s ear and told her she was going to go under the water and to hold her breath when Daddy blew in her face. It worked…sort of! She cried a couple times after coming up and wiping the salt water out of her eyes but otherwise was just  amazed at what had just happened and wanted to do it over and over again. She’s a natural now! At this point, I think she would rather be in water than on land. She has always been surrounded by water, which has led to her wandering curiosity towards it.

Where can we get the Keiki San Lorenzo bikinis?

These are available online and at selected stores. I just grabbed all of my bikinis and searched through each stores inventory to find ones that matched mine. I was happy we were able to find so many cute ones I had to narrow down my selections.

What is your next adventure with San Lorenzo Bikinis?

Definitely Santorini and the other Greek islands! Until then, we will continue to explore the beautiful Hawaiian Islands that we are fortunate to call home.

Where did you draw inspiration for your recent shoot in Hawaii, featuring our swimwear?
In my recent shoot in Hawaii, I was very inspired by the new locations and adventures. I was going for a look that resembled a girl on vacation that never wanted to leave- which was the case with me while I was there.

What was your favorite part about shooting in Hawaii?
I loved all the locations. I have been to Hawaii many times before, but having local photographers take me around and show me the best spots made it so special and interesting.

M O L O K A I

I had been on Oahu for two days when I got the call from San Lorenzo Bikinis that they wanted to send my best friend Amber and I to the island of Molokai to shoot. The moment I got off the phone with SL, I was so excited. I had never been to another Hawaiian island before, and Amber (who’s been to many) hadn’t been to Molokai either. It would be a new experience for both of us, and I was anxious to get there. San Lorenzo booked our tickets, and we were set to leave a few days after. Since we were only staying a couple of days, we packed really light. Here’s what we brought.

MOLOKAI PACKING LIST:

Cameras: Both Amber & I have Canon 5D Mark II’s.
Sapphire& sunscreen: I love this sunscreen because it’s organic and it’s made with coconut oil.
Maui Babe: This gives you a perfect bronzed glow.
LOTS of San Lorenzo Bikinis
Beach towels: San Lorenzo makes the cutest & brightest beach towels.
Good books: My all time favorites are The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle & The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.
Cute beachy clothing & jewelry: Whenever you do bikini shoots, it’s always important to bring accessories and cute clothes to mix it up a little bit.
Tea: Amber & I always try to keep it healthy and detox no matter where we are. Tiny tea by Your Tea is awesome. We bring this everywhere, and we’re always sipping on it.
A good playlist: Amber and I spent some time the night before loading some new songs onto our I-phones. It’s important to have good tunes to listen to on the plane ride. And also to jam to while we’re shooting photos for San Lorenzo.
Journal: I always bring my journal everywhere I go. It’s special to document your life no matter where you are.

Screen Shot 2015-05-20 at 2.09.51 PM

Screen Shot 2015-05-20 at 2.09.59 PMAmber and I packed our bags that night and the next morning we were up early and off to the airport. Since Molokai is so close to Oahu the plane we ended up taking was really small. It was only a six-seater plane, and there were only two other people on it with us. The plane ride ended up being a little bumpy since it was windy out and in a small plane you can feel any kind of movement in the air. That’s where good tunes and cameras come in handy! Amber and I distracted ourselves by taking photos from the plane, and jamming out to some good songs.

The plane ride was so quick; we landed in no time at all. After Amber and I landed we had to get groceries since we were staying at a house, so the first thing we did was drive to the grocery store. The whole ride there was so beautiful. Molokai is known for how reserved and untouched it is. We enjoyed a 30 min peaceful ride to the store, and maybe saw 1 or 2 cars the whole drive there. Thanks to Google, we were able to find a really cool all natural grocery store owned by a sweet local of Molokai. We spent about fifteen minutes there and loaded up on a bunch of fresh fruit. Fruit is great because it’s so healthy, delicious, and it’s even good to use for props while shooting. After we stalked up on fruit we went to the other main grocery store to get a few more necessities. There we found a little farmers market, and we bought a few more healthy snacks such as avocado and a pineapple. All the locals in Molokai were such sweet, down to earth, loving people. Amber and I loved their energy and how welcome they made us feel.

Screen Shot 2015-05-20 at 2.10.18 PM

After getting all our groceries Amber and I got back on the road and headed towards the house we were staying at. The whole forty-minute drive there, Amber and I listened to good music with the windows rolled down. The island was so raw and beautiful. It felt like we had gone back in time to some of the earliest days in Hawaii, there was no traffic, no buildings taller than a palm tree, dirt roads. Even the beaches we drove by were vacant of people. As we were getting closer to the house, we drove down this very narrow road that curved around a black sand beach, it was so beautiful and untouched I could hardly believe it. We were in for another surprise when we arrived at the house. Where we stayed was a hidden glass cottage that not only had outdoor bathtubs overlooking the ocean but it even had it’s own secret beach. Amber and I were in heaven. We spent the majority of our days lounging in the warm bathtubs, shooting photos around the house, laying out on the private beach out front reading good books, and exploring the other beaches on Molokai. No matter what we did, we were always in a San Lorenzo Bikini. The weather was off and on, and it was rainy and stormy for most of the trip but that didn’t stop us! We adventured around the island, found some stunning beaches, a cool palm tree grove, and tried to capture the simple and raw beauty of Molokai the best we could.

I’m so thankful the San Lorenzo team sent Amber and I to this gorgeous island to shoot and explore. It was an experience I’ll never forget. Molokai really taught me to appreciate natural & raw beauty, and I’ll always remember the Aloha the locals there showed us.

Eighteen with Greta Rose Evans

We are so honored to announce that our very own SL girl Greta Evans has released her 2nd book. Eighteen, a photo journal,  was launched yesterday and let us tell you, this isn’t just a story about a number. This is a story about everything that comes along with it.

Some of us have been there and lived through the trials and tribulations of growing up, this book will take you back or give you a keen insight into being 18, even if for a second time. Turning eighteen held a year of excitement and challenges for Greta and couldn’t make you feel more humbled about your own experiences. Moving out of her parents home, falling in love, going to college, traveling across the world with SL & overall learning how to live on her own as the new adult she was becoming.

We take pride in you for achieving your goals and loved being along for the ride. Happy birthday Greta!

Have some burning questions for our babe?? She will hold a Q&A throughout the weekend HERE on the blog. So, ask away!

Her book will be available in stores early December!

Follow @greta_rosee for more about her adventures & her book
